Dr. Garry Toor who is originally from Vancouver, British Columbia, received his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery certificate from the University of Toronto in 2016. Prior to his residency, Dr. Toor completed his undergraduate dental training at University of Toronto followed by a 1 year internship at the Health Science Center in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 2011. As part of his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency, Dr. Toor has had extensive general anaesthesia and IV sedation training.
Dr. Toor’s comprehensive training at the University of Toronto included wisdom teeth removal, autogenous bone harvesting with grafting, dental implants, trauma, pathology and TMJ disorders.Dr. Toor has a passion for orthognathic surgery and was trained by leaders in the profession. Dr. Toor is a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and is also a staff surgeon at Hamilton Health Sciences which includes Hamilton General Hospital and McMaster Children’s Hospital.
Prior to pursuing a career in health care, Dr. Toor played hockey in the Western Hockey League followed by professional hockey in Europe.
During his spare time, Dr. Toor enjoys playing hockey, travelling, and spending as much time as he can with his wife and his three young children, his spirited toddler Mason, his precious baby Maya, and the newest addition to his family, his playful little puppy Bruno.
